Falmouth School of Sailing Falmouth School of Sailing has been working out of Falmouth for the last 28 year. Run by four different owners over the last 28 years and is currently own but Rob Thurston who has owned it for the last four years. The school started off teaching people sailing in some dinghies and has progresses on through the years to teaching powerboating, keelboat sailing and yachting. We pride of selves on quality tuition and have a high stranded for all our courses. Our aim to make your time with us the best we can We are a friendly sailing and powerboat training school located in one of the largest and most beautiful natural working Harbours in the world. Situated off the Fal Estuary, in the heart of the historical maritime town of Falmouth. The local waters provide one of the most versatile and picturesque locations for Watersports in the Europe. Falmouth School of Sailing is an independent, fully recognised Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Training and Chartering School. We are also licensed by Adventure Activates Licensing Authority (AALA). RYA MCA Training We offer beginner, Intermediate and advanced courses in powerboating, keelboat and dinghy-sailing. We also work with another local training school Trysail to offer both theory and practical yacht and motorboat based courses from Day Skipper through to Yachtmaster Ocean Our courses range from half day taster sessions through to intensive 2-5 day courses for both youths and adults. We provide a weekly youth club for young people aged 8-17 years and a weekly adult sailing evening. We are equipped with a wide range of dinghies, powerboats, and keelboats. We offer other Specialist course in VHF/GMDSS, Sea Survival, HSE first aid one and four day and more. We are happy to tailor the courses to cater for your needs. Due to the milder winter climates of Cornwall we are able to offer courses all year round. Chartering The school offers a variety of boats for charter ranging from bare boat charters on vessels ranging from 19ft to 36ft and all of our smaller Dinghies. We also offer yacht/motorboat management and Skippered delivery services. Falmouth School of Sailing’s instructors and skippers; are carefully chosen for their relaxed, enthusiastic but professional approach, to the way they pass on their skills and experiences in the courses that we offer.
